Ear candling dates as far back as 2500 BC.
How It Works
The spiral of the cone causes the smoke to be drawn downward into the ear canal. This causes the ear canal to warm, and loosens the wax and other debris lying there. The candle flame and the cone geometry then create a gentle vacuum that draws out this debris and often helps to relieve congestion. As the candle burns, you may hear some crackling and hissing. This is a normal sound of the candle at work.
Ear candling is soothing and relaxing, and you may experience a clearing of the sinuses, eustachian tubes and nasal passages.
Does it hurt?
No. There is absolutely no discomfort during ear candling Ear Candling is safe and painless. Some people become so relaxed they fall asleep during candling.
What are the benefits?
Ear candling is not a cure-all, but has proven to be a successful and economic alternative to having Tympanotomy tubes inserted or having your ears flushed with water by a physician. The non-invasive candling process has been known to improve hearing, lymph circulation, and balance. Our clients report relief from tinnitus, vertigo, and pressure regulation.
Ear wax buildup is common, and the central influence of the auditory system on coherent body functioning is well known. Most people benefit from a clear auditory canal, especially those who
Have a chronic wax buildup condition
Work outdoors or in dusty environments
Participate in water activities
Suffer ear-aches, sinus infections, or allergies
Wish to apply herbal therapies as a health benefit
Our Ear Candles are made with Beeswax and Hemp Cloth.
It is not advisable to do Ear Candling yourself. You are dealing with an open flame, clothing and hair. We would rather you have your Ear Candling done by a professional.
Beeswax candles are especially indicated for people who suffer from allergies, hay fever, asthma, etc. due to the bees interaction with the plant environment. Beeswax candles burn slower than paraffin, have a pleasant aroma and have a very soothing effect on the ear. Since beeswax does not disintegrate as does the paraffin or paraffin combination candle, the remains may consist of more candle residue. Relaxation is an important part of the candling process.
Do not elect ear candling if you have
A Recent ear surgery
Cysts or tumors in the ear
Mastoiditis in an acute stage
Ear drains (tubes)
A recent injury or damage to the ear
A word of caution:
Remember, ear candling is a home remedy and is not a cure for any disease or specific ailment. Ear Candling is not designed to take the place of professional medical advice or treatment when it is indicated. It's important to note that some people should not use cones. For instance, people who have had ear, nose, throat or sinus surgery recently, and those with tubes in the ears are not candidates for candling. Anyone with ear drum rupture, perforation, or experiencing bleeding of the ear, should see a doctor immediately as this indicates a serious ear problem.
